Canco Park Conservancy is organizing a free citywide event for this coming Saturday 8/10 9am – 5pm. We’d like to invite you all to either HOST or PARTICIPATE. Please feel free to share this email.

Our goal is to bring people to nature and gardeners to gardens.

The Garden tour is a self lead tour with participating locations dedicating a 1-2 hour timeslot, participants show up during that time. Some locations are in parks, others are private or community gardens. Private gardens can set a limit on number of visitors.

Hosts make the event their own. Some are playing guitar, fundraising with t shirt sales, displaying artwork, volunteer drives, membership drives, others are doing a scavenger hunt or craft activity.  Some are just having a hello & chat. Each host should cover the following… What makes your garden special, why do you garden, what are your favorite elements of your garden and how did your garden come to be?

Canco Park Tour is scheduled at 530pm with fundraiser sunset closing party at the end of tour at 6:30pm. To be held on the private garden Patio at Canco Lofts overlooking the park, cocktails and hors d’oeuvres Sponsored by Sawyer Smith Residential, provided by Square 1 Community Eatery and Buy Rite. Funds raised will support our Wildlife Habitat and Pollinator Garden Programs expanding educational and outreach opportunities.

A list of participating locations (12 so far) will be released Monday with updates Fri 8/9. List so far includes Pershing, LGP, VanVorst, Riverview Community, Ogden’s End Community, Brunswick Community, Where’s Waldo, PEACE and a few others.
