Together, we are facing a truly unprecedented situation. The global coronavirus pandemic is affecting all of our families, our businesses, our communities, and our way of life. During this time, the Jersey City Parks Coalition will do whatever possible to assist in promoting the health and safety of all Jersey City residents.
First and foremost, our hearts go out to anyone who’s been impacted by the virus, either directly or indirectly. Our thoughts are especially with those who are sick, to whom we extend our heartfelt wishes for a full recovery. And we’re truly inspired by the selfless healthcare workers around the world who are on the front lines working tirelessly to care for people in need.
We have amazing teams in Jersey City that are working tirelessly to help keep us safe and healthy. As such the Mayor, by Executive Order, has closed all City-owned parks, playgrounds and recreational facilities until further notice. While cabin fever may be setting in for all of us forced to stay home, we must abide by the measures put in place, including this social distancing strategy, as health officials work to halt the spread of coronavirus.
This moment reminds us that we’re all connected like never before. We’re called upon to be our best selves, with patience, understanding and compassion. On behalf of the Jersey City Parks Coalition, we’re committed to these virtues for the overall benefit of all. For more information visit: www.jcnj.org/coronavirus or follow HealthierJC on twitter.
Sincerely,
Laura Skolar-Gamarello, President
